I studied mathematics at the Technical University of Braunschweig. Afterwards, I did my PhD in scheduling theory at the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg. Since November 1999 I have been working at Siemens (Mobility) as a system engineer for railway automation and railway information technology.
